Are you looking for? second-hand men's clothing in Tilburg, then you probably want more than a rack full of random clothes. A good second-hand garment should fit, be well cared for and add something to your wardrobe. EcoGents is therefore all about selection, overview and character: not a general thrift store, but a specialized men's store.
Second-hand men's clothing without searching
For many customers, the biggest difference is not even in the offer, but in the way it is presented. Clothes are checked, washed, ironed and then sorted by size. This means you don't start with brand or color, but simply with your size. That sounds simple, but it makes a big difference with second-hand clothing.
In the store you will find, among other things: jackets and blazers, waistcoats, shirts, trousers, suits, ties, knitwear and jackets. Some of it is vintage, some of it is younger, second-hand. It is not the age of a garment that determines whether it is interesting, but the combination of quality, fit and appearance.
What do you look for in second-hand men's clothing?
Buying second-hand requires a little more attention than buying a new garment from one fixed size series. Especially with older clothing, sizes can be different than you are used to. That's why it's smart to look beyond just the label.
- Shoulders: This is the most important starting point, especially for jackets and coats. Shoulders that are too wide or too narrow are difficult to correct.
- Length: look not only at sleeve length, but also at the total length of a jacket, shirt or sweater.
- Seams and lining: check for wear, loose seams, cracks and damage.
- Buttons and zippers: complete and properly functioning is more important than a special brand.
- Material: we only accept material when a label or other reliable source confirms this. When it comes to vintage clothing, guessing based on feeling is not a good basis.

Fit is extra important when buying second hand
A size 50 from one brand can fit very differently than a size 50 from another brand, and with vintage clothing the difference can be even greater. Therefore, look at how a garment actually fits. With a jacket, the shoulders and chest are leading; With a shirt, armpit width, back length and sleeve length are important.

Vintage and modern second hand side by side
EcoGents is not a store where everything is automatically called 'vintage'. A good modern suit jacket can be just as interesting as a real 70s shirt. For older pieces, we look at label, cut, collar shape, finish and material indication, among other things. If an exact age cannot be proven, we would rather say so honestly than make up a year.

Why men come to Tilburg especially
A large part of the power of a physical second-hand men's store lies in trying and combining. A waistcoat that says little on a hanger can suddenly look exactly right under a jacket. A striking shirt often becomes more wearable as soon as it is paired with calm trousers or a jacket.
The store on the Westermarkt is therefore furnished like a gentleman's room: quiet, uncluttered and without haste. You can search specifically, but you can also just try different combinations.
